How do you remove exterior paint from natural rock? These stones are part of our front and are painted with a heavy brown paint. I would like to return the stones to their original state and then seal them with clear sealant.:confused:

What kind of stones are they, please? Are they rough or perfectly smooth, perhaps a combination of different surface textures? Also, how large are they?

A heat gun or liquid paint remover are the first things that come to my mind. But, it would help to know what it is exactly with which you're dealing here.
