Split unit, compresson working but fan doesn't
I would like to say this website was very helpful, I learned a lot. Now for my question, I installed a split unit everything works, except the fan. All the wiring to the unit is correct, I had the assumption that the fan turned on after the unit got hot, but after running it for a while I found out that I was wrong.

The fan has four wires coming (they have a red circle so its easy to see) one is red, orange, blue and yellow with green stripes. The blue one is not connected. Can someone tell me where to connect this wire. The orange wire with a yellow circle is from the inside unit it reads 120volts when the unit is on. The whole unit is 240.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

I can do much better with a wiring diagram from the unit. If you have one please post it.

You say the wiring is correct, so what makes you think so since the one wire is not connected.

It would be helpful is you could send the information that is on the wiring diagram, just take a picture if you can.

The blue wire was connected to the relay. I read up on fan motors and it mentioned that some motor fans are connected with dual capacitors, a start cap and run cap. I was going to plug it into the start cap, but decided to ask the question first.

Don't plug it anywhere until you know for sure where it goes, you could damage the motor.

If you can't send the wiring diagram then look at the diagram and tell us what it says.

I couldn't take the picture directly so I drew it by hand. The BL stands for blue not black. Can someone please tell me what TPL stands for, thanks

Sorry I forgot to mention that this diagram was on the fan, that's the only diagram I found.

Looks like blue goes to the contactor

I tried that this week, but it didn't work. Is there a way I can test if the fan works? Thanks

I am not for sure but I believe that is a China unit. Contact these folks since I have no info for that brand or units. Sorry
