HSBC being named as Plaintiff by Mann Bracken
I received a summons complaint naming HSBC as the Plaintiff. Mann Bracken LLP is stating that they are attorney representing HSBC.

HSBC charged the debt off. I called them to find out if they still own the account and they tell me that they have no information of the account and to call 8002601706, which is the National Attorney Network. I call them for account information, but they too are unable to tell me anything. They say that the account has been turned over to Mann Bracken LLP.

What does this all mean? If Mann Bracken now owns the account, shouldn't Mann Bracken LLP be listed as the Plaintiff on the Summons Complaint, instead of HSBC?

Charge off is an accounting term and is generally unrelated to who owns the debt.
