I had a friend who go to get marry very soon to a Irish guy but she don t know what a Irish wedding look like so she want to ask see anyone could help her out with the planning of the weding. I tolkd her that you could put some kind of stuff in your wedding that had the meaning of Irish in it .

My Irish-American family always has bagpipes and drums come for a short performance during the reception which is very dramatic and has become a tradition in the family. We also have a tradition in which each bride carries the same Irish linen handkerchief, on which her name and wedding date is then embroidered (we are all on it) as her "something borrowed" and we carry an antique Irish coin for luck. Some have included Irish hymns and poems in the ceremony, or have bought unity candles imprinted with an Irish blessing.
