I have a hot water tank problem I can get the pilot lite lit but it will go out after a while any suggestions.

It could be the pilot orifice is partially restricted. If it is a newer gas model sometimes the required safety shutoff can be defective. Also a weak thermocouple can also cause a intermittent problem.
