    Connect galvanized to PVC
I have an old (30 years) old galvanized service to my home. The connector coming into the house (PVC) broke off and I need to repair it. What is the best way to connect old corroded galvanized pipe to PVC?
I know I need to replace service line, but cannot afford to do this at this time.
    Thanks, Ronnie

Does the galvanized pipe still have its threads? How was it connected before it broke?
Brass corrodes while galvanized rusts. If you have rusty threads, clean them up with a wire brush and transition to PVC with a galvanized coupling and a PVC male threaded adapter.Good luck, Tom

Hi Ronnie, please, first tell us: is it drain or pressurized water pipe that you are dealing with ?
