    Lease termination due to pregnancy
My husband & I are expectiong in September & we currently just bought our first home, we checked with our apartment complex on the specifics of terminating a lease, but we still will have to pay about three months rent... does this sound right, is there anyway to get out of it due to lack of space for us & baby?

For 3 months? A 3 month old baby doesn't take up that much space.

A lease is a contract and, unless there are terms for early release, you are bound by the contract. If you walk out on a lease you owe for the remainder of the lease or until a new tenant can move in. The landlord must make agood faith effort to find a new tenant but if he has more than one unit he is not obligatd to fill your unit first.

It appears you really want out of the lease because you are buying a home.

But regardless baby or new home, either way they don't even have to let you out, so if you have 6 months left, they can say you can't even move or if you do, you have to pay the rest of the lease.

With that said, if they will let you out of the lease with only paying 3 months rent as a payment to break the lease that is not bad at all.
