I'm 5'5 and weigh between 162-165,depends on what day it is. I want to loose 30 pounds, anybody have any ideas and motivational paths I can take?

You need to find something active you enjoy doing. I really enjoy cycling and I've lose 70 pounds in about 1&1/2 years. If you don't enjoy the exercise you will end up quiting and not doing it most the time. Also try to re-program your mind, eat to live not live to eat.
I agree with scott_1976, find an activity you enjoy and will stick with. Maybe try something new, or an activity you enjoyed before. Mix in a few different things if need be to keep it interesting. Start slowly and build up... going all out from the start can result in injury and disliking what you are doing! Try to work up to about an hour a day... some days you may do more, some days you may do less, but try to move every day in some way.
Expect days where you don't feel like doing it, but keep going... maybe get a friend or family member to join you. Having someone to encourage you and also to keep you honest can go a long way... :)
Watch what you eat... limit the goodies (including what you drink) to just now and then (more "then" than "now" works best!), increase healthy foods, watch portion sizes... skip going back for seconds, try using a smaller plate at meals, for example a salad plate instead of a dinner plate. Plate looks full with less food on it.
Consistency is key... if you mess up once in awhile, just get back into it and keep going. Set realistic goals... don't expect it to happen quickly or without effort, but as you see the gradual results, that in itself will spark your continued efforts!
