Adding Son's Bio to Birth Certificate
I got married back in 2006 but left my husband a few months later and have not seen him since. I found someone new in 2007 and became pregnant with the new boyfriend's baby. I was not divorced yet when I had our son so I could not legally put him as the father on the birth certificate so I left it blank. I am now divorced and want to add the bio, but when I went through my divorce I said nothing of my son as advised by the courthouse clerk. She said that it would drag the process out and if the ex husband isn't trying to cause problems pertaining to the situation that it wouldn't matter. I didn't think of the birth certificate at the time. I contact vital statistics and they said that it has to be in the divorce papers. Is there any other way I can add his father? Maybe by DNA?

If you apply for assistance with Social services. For example, child support they will administer a paternity test for the child. That is the way it is here in NC.Hope this helps.
