    Frustrated and lost
When I put a cd or dvd in my writer it won't read it. I look into my computer and it doesn't show that I have anything in my D drive. In my device manager it has a yellow balloon with an exclamation mark beside WAN miniport (IP) - AVG miniport driver, Microsoft TV/Video connection - AVG miniport and WAN Miniport (Network Monitor) - AVG miniport driver. When I click on them and go to properties I get the following message.. Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). My dvd writer worked fine yesterday and today it doesn't, I'm confused. What should I do?:(

Did it come with a driver installation disc?

I'm not sure. The guy that put it in has his own business and he took it to his shop and brought it back when he was finished

I would give him a call and see if he still has the driver installation disc and tell him what is happening he may just run the disc again. If he won't find out the brand and go to their website many hardware companies will let you download drivers for free off their sites.

Sounds like it could be the "upperlimits" registry issue that happens when someone uninstalls a CD burning program. Try the Registry fix from this pae: CDgone -> Hardware Tools -> Downloads
