I need to know the name of a specific Film.

This is my first time asking a question, but I've been looking every where for a film I watched as a child and I can't find it anywhere. Its an oldish film, where a mother and daughter move to a new home and a new place, the mother gets a job, the girl meets another girl they become friends, but when she is around the guys she actually dresses up as a guy and then they find out. They have a band together 2 girls 2 or 3 guys, they're young and they play in a talent competition or a fund raiser or something, they get leather jackets with the name of their band on them? Also the young girl has an old man that's like a neighbour.Can anyone please help me on this one?
