Wet ground after a hot dry day
    Hi All,

I live on a slab house. It has been a hot dry day today ~90 degrees and I noticed wet grass in the back yard when I take my dogs out. I could not find a "wetter" section, but it is clearly in my back yard. I have no clue who to call. A plumber? A sewer guy? I am on city water, no septic tank. I thought all my water stuff was in the front, but I know nothing. Who should I call?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Shut off all fixtures in the house and then watch the pointer on the meter to see if it moves. If it does the leak is on your side of the meter. If it out in the yard and not up againist the foundation its likely the incoming feed from the city, call the water department and report the leak. They will take it from there.

If your water meter's located in the front yard and you have no sprinkler system or septic tank then there should be no wet spots in back. Check the meter pointer like Bob suggests.
Is the yard still wet after a day or so? Let me know, Tom

Do you have irrigation system in the back of your house ? (sprinklers). Sometimes water main service comes from the back of property. Also, it could be ground water. Are you on the botom of a hill ?
