    Plumbing Carbonated Water
If a carbonated Beverage machine has a backflow condition, what does the carbonated water do to the copper water lines?

    Hi AHOOD2u:

Here is what IAMGROWLER (another plumbing expert on this page) said regarding a similar question, "Copper sulfate poisoning can happen when carbonated water (CO2) comes into contact with copper pipes/fittings...

A Reduced Pressure Backflow Preventer needs to be installed at the water source and then the piping between the outlet of the RPBV and the inlet of the carbonator must contain no copper tubing".

You will also need a filter for this system.

By the way... is this a homework question..?
