    Medical payments avoid collection agency
If I am paying my hospital bills each month, can the hospital still turn me over to a collection agency?

No. As long as you have an arrangement to make payments, they cannot turn you over to a collection agency.

Depends, the reason I say this some hospitals will still turn it over to a collection agencey even if you are making payments,You will continue to make your payments you will just be sending them to the collection agency and as long as you pay the amount agreed on {in writing} you will be OK, At least that is how our local community hospital does. I asked why and I was told it was their policy to take payments but after a while it still goes to a collection agency and you make the payments to them.
