Lump on back of child's neck
I have just found a pea sized hard lump on the back of my 3yr old sons neck! It is hard to touch and is located on the right hand side of his neck/ upper spine bone under the skin!
Is this anything to worry about and should I bring him to my doctors! My doctor is a bit impatient and hates his time being wasted and I always fell a bit stupid!
    Thanks
    Debra

Bring him to the doctor. If his doctor is like that, I would find a new one. That's simply not right. You shouldn't feel like you're inconveniencing your healthcare provider. Why would anyone put up with that?

This is not normal, but may not be anything to worry about either. Could be nothing more than a sebaceous cyst. You need to take him to the doctor. If you feel this way about the doctor, it's time to find one you are comfortable with.

Take your baby to another doctor. Hopefully it's nothing serious, but why wait. We've got a great pediatrician that would never be rude or appear too busy to talk to. She knows that new parents worry. You should shop around to find one like her. Good luck and GOD bless you and your child.

If his doctor is like that I would find a new one... my daughter has the same thing but she's had it probably ever since she was born, she's 3 now. I was really worried at first because I had a lump on my neck exactly like that when I was 10 and had it removed it turned out to be a tumor but thank god it was benign... so when the lump on my daughters head felt the same way mine had I freaked out... I took her to an ear, nose and throat doctor and he did an mri and watched over the growth of it for a year... it never grew or shrunk and it didn't hurt her so I have two options; leave it alone or take it out... I decided to leave it alone for now unless it starts to hurt, swell, grow or turn red then ill definetely take it out... but I would take the kid to an ear nose and throat doctor preferably that specializes in children.
