Need old tax return for green card, use 4506/4506-T?
I lost my tax returns for 2001 and 2007 and I am going to request copies from the IRS as I might need them later for my green card application. Are transcripts enough for immigration purpose, or full tax returns are required?

Note: Full tax return copies, requested by using Form 4506, costs $57 each and transcripts, requested by using Form 4506-T, are free.

    Please advice. Thank you!

    The transcripts are sufficient.

    Thank you for the answer.

The problem is that I even forgot what forms I filed. So, how should I answer question 6 (shown as below).

    Thank you very much!

    6. Transcript requested. Enter the tax form number here (1040, 1065, 1120, etc.) and check the appropriate box below. Enter only one tax form number per request.

For the individual tax return, the tax form is 1040.

How about other forms that I filed with the 1040, such as Schedule A&B? Do I need to request transcripts for those forms for my green card application?

If yes, the problem is that I forgot exactly which forms, other than the 1040, I filed?

Please help! I would greatly appreciate that.

The transcript you receive will have ALL documents that have been submitted to the IRS (Form 1040, Schedules A & B, W-2s, Forms 1099s, etc.).
