Hot water just trickles out of kitchen faucet. Fine everywhere else. Home is 10 yrs old. 2 water heaters connected together. Have replaced faucet, checked everything else. Assume it is in the pipe that goes to sink. Question: Can I try and blow air pressure through pipe? My husband says a plumber will have to tear out walls and get to pipes and says it would be too expensive. I just hate not having hot water pressure at kitchen sink and I have been learning all I can online about this problem. Any suggestions?

Let's first ascertain the cause and then the solution. If you do not flush your heaters out then mineral build up will occur. When it reaches a certain point it will be drawn up into a line making a draw, in this case your kitchen sink. What I think has happened is that the mineral has lodged in the seat of the angle stop and stopping the flow
If ths were my call I would shut the water off at the house shut off or the water heater and, if the angle stop's a compression stop, unscrew and take it off the pipe. Place a pan under theopen pipe and turn the hot waterback on and flush out the hot water supply line. Do you have a full stream now?

If you don't have your heaters on a monthly maintenance schedule let me show you how. For long life and fewer troubles you should keep your heater clear of mineral build-up by flushing on a regular schedule. Attach a hose to the boiler drain at the bottom of the tank. With the pressure on, open the boiler drain and let it run until the water runs clear. You will see a spurt of red,(rust) followed by white grains,(lime or calcium carbonate). This shouldn't take more then a few minutes. Do this monthly to keep it clear. Don't forget to flush it out every month. Your heater will thank you for it.

OK, when you refer to "seat of the angle stop" do you mean the valve under the sink? When we replaced the faucet we also put in a new valve. When my husband did this we did flush the water through and it was still at a slow stream. If you are referring to something else please let me know. By the way, flushed the water heaters out today and nothing visible came out. Is this unusual?
