What is the best way of getting the man of your 8 year dreams?
I’ve not had a boyfriend for over 8 years. I know that sounds a bit mad saying it like that, I have had a few flings but nothing that I consider serious. My job usually keeps me incredibly busy but recently I have changed jobs and I really like someone I work with. He has a girlfriend though the cracks in their relationship are evident. They have been dating for about 9 months. Whenever I look up, he is looking at me. I'm not sure what to do. He is my friend and we have the best time when we are out. All the help on the net does not offer real advice so I thought I would try this. I’ve always taken the moral high ground but a mate at work has led to think, hang on they are not married - all is fair in love and war type stuff. What I need to know is should I try and if so what should I do? What is the best way of getting the man of your 8 year dreams?

He has a girlfriend, so he's off-limits. The reason you think you see crack is because you're actively looking/searching for these cracks. It might just be regular relationship arguments. Don't give yourself false hope like that. If they break up one day, then maybe you guys have a chance, but don't put your life on hold waiting for him.

Like you said, you've been single for 8 years, so don't keep waiting around. Keep meeting new people!

I agree he is off limits. You say you are friends so you should be able to ask him general questions about how things are going in his life. If he is interested he might open up about his girlfriend problems. If not then he most likely wants to work things out with her or they aren't as bad as you think.

So in the end when its all said and done all you can do is don't get involved until he can say (without your interference) that he broke up with her.
