    Is it legally for someone cashing a check you wrote to fill in parts of the memo after you did for their benefit

    I don't see why it would not be legal. You have signed the check, made it out to the payee, dated it. Payee just wants it noted exactly what the payment is for. Either that or you ask him what he wants in the memo part and you write it in.

    What do u mean by "for their benefit"
    Is the memo part of binding contract btwn u 2?
