It is not true, if you give it a password, you WILL be able to open again. Avoid wireless to keep hackers out, Use WPA if you have too.

You will need to access your Routers Menu, Example is for Linksys, enter 192.168.1.1 and enter the routers default user name and password and click on wireless or security, wherever it lets you set SSID, user name, password, WPA, WEP or whatever.
    What do you have?

Hello,I've just opened the page and I click on interface and then I clicked on internet,I found a place where there is written a username and password and under them written Encapsulation, so what shall I do? if I changed that username and password am I ganna be able to access into the internet ?and why people can access to my router and I have that password and user name?

Change the Router name and password if going wireless, or internal security may be a problem. You only need the user name and password if changing or viewing Router Information. Won't stop you from using it.
Then there is a place for security where you can select WEP, WPA etc. also change your SSID. With the security, it should help keep out hackers.
DO REMEMBER ANY PASSWORDS OR SECURITY KEYS.
