    Variable frequency drives
Can VFD step up to 60 Hz if it is designed to receive 50 Hz input?
    Thank you

It depends on the device. If the device is built to use line frequency as its clock source, it will run fast -- at 6/5 speed -- when running on 60 Hz (if designed to run at 50 Hz). On the other hand, if it has a separate oscillator to control its clock, it will probably run fine on either 50 or 60-Hz if the voltage and power available is otherwise OK.
