I'm 14 years old and have a septate hymen I found out a couple days ago, I'm terrified to tell my mom about it! I really want to get it taken care of now instead of later and I'm not afraid of going into the doctors but I just don't know how to tell my mom. Any advice?

You shouldn't be afraid of telling your mother.

Spetate hymens are usually fixed by surgery. You should see a doctor.

Are you sexually active?

No I'm not, but what do I say to her?

Tell her simply that you have a septate hymen and would like to go see a doctor about it.

I discovered mine at 15 and didn't tell my mum for a year because I was so embarrassed, but when I told her, she took me straight to the doctors and within a month I had very simple surgery to remove it, it was so worth it and I really recommend it x
