Why does the condenser fan hum, and trip the circuit breaker?
I have a 48000 BTUH Amana High Efficiency remote condensing unit that is not cooling. I realized that the circuit breaker keeps tripping. On investigating, I realized that condensing unit fan only humns but does not blow. After 10/15 minutes of fixing the breaker, it trips again.
Do I need the fan replaced or the whole condensing unit or the breaker?
    Thanks

Does it run at all ? Or does it trip the breaker immediately?
Check the breaker ,could be bad
Check capicitor ( but not likely to be bad)
With power disconneted at breaker, can you disconnect the lead wire that runs from motor to the contacter,so as the fan has no connection, see if the compressor runs OK with out the fan trying to come on
Do this only if you are comfy with 230 volts electric,,
