Did your hair break due to overprocessing or stress?

You may need to have it trimmed to eliminate any split ends. Avoid heat styling as much as possible. If your hair is already chemically processed in any way, withhold from any more processing until the condition improves.

Try a deep conditioner at least once a week. Olive oil and avocado work well too. (You just want to stay away from too many products with protein- too much protein is bad.) Put in on, then use a conditioning cap to allow it to penetrate. The longer you can leave it on the better. If possible sit under a warm hair dryer to help it even more.

Try sleeping in a silk scarf (real 100% silk) or a satin pillowcase to avoid damage from cotton sheets.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to repair the hair. Damaged hair cannot really be repaired, in spite of claims to the contrary. Conditioners will help prevent additional breakage so they're essential.

There's no real truth to the claim that "too much protein is bad". All "protein conditioners" do is coat the hair. They don't actually incorporate the protein in these products into the hair so basically it's a scam. That being said, you really don't want to coat your hair with protein. That will make it weigh heavier and will put additional stress on the already fragile hair backbone and make it more likely to break.

There is a really awesome product on TheShoppingChannel.com called Ojon and its amazing , a little on the pricey side but it will last you a while because you don't need a lot. It works great for my damaged hair and hopefully if you buy it; it will work just as well for you :)
