    Sketcth drawing!
Hello everyone, ironclad here! Well I don't really have an issue with drawing at all, but I do wonder if someone can give me advice on perfecting my talent already!! Here we go

I've been drawing since I was a kid, picked up a pencil and started to doodle! Soon became serious about it when I hit middle school, then in throughout high school I took all the art classes I can handle, but somehow I don't think I've learn to perfect the name of art, I do a lot of small drawings of anything that comes to mind! But sometimes I'm stumped and mimic others drawings to see if I'm just as good or try to be?? Did I miss an important part of art, or do I just need to keep at it and hope for the best? I have great passion for art, but sometimes I down myself for not being as good as I should be by now?? Any advice on this subject?

Keep at it and also remember that often even the best artists go through dry spells.

I am a local portrait artist and I started drawing as a child. The best advice I can give is to pick a subject matter and a medium that you like and practice. Practice all the time. I went to art school for four years and I didn't feel it taught me anymore than I could have learned by reading a book and practicing techniques. There are many great books out there that give you the tools you need to get started. Some of the best artists copied other artists' styles and techniques before they discovered their own. Good Luck!

I own a sketch by Emil Le Compte. It is an old man wearing a hat, using a walking stick. He is walking in a field with a bridge shown in the picture.

Any idea what this is worth.
