What is the tax rate in Texas?
    Hi

I am just planning my finances out in this new job. I am on OPT till Oct and then I'll switch to H1b. My annual salary is $74k in Austin. Can you tell me how much taxes would I be paying? I am unmarried.

    Thanks

The federal income tax is same where ever you live. If you are single, you must file nonresident tax return (unless you have already completed 5 years on F1 and OPT).

Texas does not have state income tax.
