    Dappled willow (Hakuro Nishiki)?
My Lowe's just received "dappled willows", my question is what is the correct site to plant? Monrovia cite states full sun. The tree itself state morning sun, by the grafting nursery tag. Yet the same tree has a tag from the shrub nursery stating full sun. They moved all the trees due to leaf burn in the direct sun, maybe because they are in pots?

They seem to be grafted on a Bradford pear, the leaves on suckers at the base are identical to the pear.

It states 4 to 6 feet? How likely is this size?

The web says full sun to part shade. I have absolutely no luck with them anywhere in my garden and am an experienced gardner.

They are quite attractive, vibrant looking shrubs and I have seen some mature ones. I think they should be planted where accessible to a water source, as it is a willow nonetheless. You won't have to worry about them getting as big as a full willow tree though.

I guess mine didn't like my soil and I am on Lake Ontario so weather is severe at times.

Good luck, but I have not seen a mature one 6 ft. tall.

I tried a few spots and it didn't thrive till I moved it to the south-eastern corner next to my house. It gets morning sun and southern exposure in the afternoon.
