For years I've been trying to find this children's movie I used to rent all the time when I was a kid... I think it was a Japanese production from the early 80s. I can't recall the title or names of the characters for the life of me, but what I do remember is that the setting was in a pond or something, and all the characters were aquatic creatures. The movie opened up with a bunch of tadpoles trying to escape these other fish (wearing crowns with tridents) who were chasing them through the water sucking them up and eating them live (disturbing! ). Only one ends up surviving, and the plot of the movie revolves around his life as he grows up. It was a very violent movie as I recall, and I also remember a lobster or crayfish character who beat up (maybe killed?) his parents/friends...

If anyone could tell me the name of this I would be SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO thankful...
