    Hard drive cloning trouble
    I own a HP Compaq nx9010 (DH939U) Laptop with spec.s = (Mobile Intel Pentium [R]4 precessor,3.06GHz 3059Mhz 1core 1 logical processor,1GB ram,Bios version/date = Phoenix Technologies Ltd. KF_KH.F.21 3/18/2004 & SMBIOS = 2.3).
I 1st cloned my original hard drive "Seagate model ST 94019A 40GB hard drive" [running Windows XP Pro] to a "Western Digital model WD2500BEVE 250GB hard drive" by using "Bouncbak" hard drive cloning software & everything went fine.
I then decided to upgrade to "Windows Vista Nvidia Evolution/version 6.0.6001/with service pack 1" & installed it on a "Fujitsu model MT2060AH PL 60GB hard drive" which runs great & I'm currently using.
I later cloned that "Fujitsu model MT2060AH PL 60GB hard drive" [running Windows Vista Nvidia Evolution/version 6.0.6001/with service pack 1] onto another brand new "Western Digital model WD2500BEVE 250GB hard drive" (using "Bouncbak" hard drive cloning software) again but the installation process took 8 to 10hrs. But did work.
When I installed the newly cloned "Western Digital model WD2500BEVE 250GB hard drive" into my Laptop & turned it on the Laptop's hard drive activity light stays lit & blinks once every hr. to 1hr.30min. Or so & my Laptop's activity appears to be (frozen, system lock-up etc... ) but it actually is running thoe, just at a snail's pace,it takes it (1hr20min. Or so) to just to boot up.
It does eventually boot-up,but still running at the same snail's pace.
I've tried several different versions of "Windows Vista" (even fresh installs onto a brand new or a re-formatted "Western Digital model WD2500BEVE 250GB hard drives) & I tried using "Acronis" hard drive cloning software but the out-come is still the same.
All of my "Windows XP Pro" versions run great thoe.
--- CAN ANYONE PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING PROBLEM?? ---

Without knowing your drives, is it possible the drive you are having trouble with is not an sata drive and your laptop may need an sata drive?

Check BIOS to see if drive is recognized

Don't know what else to add
