    Paying for wedding
My name is oscar and I was engaged for six months, my ex-fiance broke up with me and did not want to get married, but through out the six months I was engaged I was sending her money to pay for the wedding. When I found out she had'nt made any purchases for the wedding and was keeping the money saved in a bank account not under both our names I asked her to return the money to me but she did not want to or the ring. I do have the Money Gram receipts for all the money I sent her for the wedding. My question is can I take her to court and win.

I'm not a legal expert but from what I've read in the past, yes, you have a very good chance of winning, at least the ring.

The ring was given as a promise to fulfill a contract, marriage. Since she didn't go through with the marriage the contract is null and void and the ring is to be given back to you.

The money may be a bit more difficult as you'll have to prove it was strictly for wedding expenses and not a gift to her for other things.

Keep checking back for answers. As I said, I'm not a legal expert but we have many wonderful experts on the site, sadly it's a bit late and they may not be online right now.

    Good luck.

I've hired an investigator and an attorney from Honduras to help me, hopefully they can get her on fraud charges and unless she returns the money or the ring she will go to jail. Its not the money persay but the betrayl I just want to see her pennyless and broke on all the attorney fees she spends, I can afford it but it means more to me that she does not have that money to spend cause it's a small city and I look like a sucker there. Well you know My pride was hurt.

Revenge always comes back at you. If you want your money back, fine, I have no problem. If you are pursuing her in order to leave her "penniless and broke," then you are looking even more foolish.

Do I think you can win - sure. Do I understand the hurt/betrayal? Sure. Do I think you should express your feeling that you deserve revenge? No.

    :)
Then why ask us? I suspect the attorney from Honduras knows a lot more about Honduran law than all of us on this forum combined.

To be honest you are wasting even more time and money here.
South America is run on corruption and bribes.
Save yourself and walk away. Put it all down to experience!!
