K me and my boyfriend just broke up for the summer and he still says that he loves me and can't stand to be away from me and that if we don't get back together than he will kill himself. What should do?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confus ed:

Do not get back together with him. He is obviously very unstable and has some serious mental problems. You getting back together with him is not going to help him.

Saying that he will kill himself is definitely a very big sign of illness. He should never say anything like that. If you think he is serious, please report him. Don't let him kill himself because he is unstable over a break up. You'll be scarred for life. Talking to him might or might not help. If you can convince him away from suicide, do it. Here is where it's very sticky though. You can't lead him on and he'll ask those questions over and over and over about what's going to happen and he'll keep up false hope, damaging him more in the long run and causing him to become even more suicidal. The best bet is to not talk to him unless he is threatening with suicides, then talk with him until he is put in a rehab. He seems very unstable and you have a very difficult decision to make. If you feel uncertain, as I do with every single problem I've ever had with an Ex, do what feels right, but remember that following your brain and following your heart are two different things. Don't confuse the two, it's very easy. Also, just curious how long have you two been together. Please say 2 years at least...

Give him the phone number to a local therapist.

This is sick and munipulative behavior. Don't allow him to start that with you, it will never stop.
Tell his parents about what he has said and then go about your business.

Now I really honestly do not think this boy is going to kill himself.(Not saying that this shouldn't be told to his parents because it should)But I live in a very unstable little town of teenagers.In the past eleven years there has been a suicide in a young boy,every,school,year.And not one ever said "I will kill myself if" Or "Im going to kill myself" you know what I mean.I think he's mulipulating you to try and stay with you, he's older than you and he's proberly used this line before.you say"well obviously I dont want you to kill yourself,Im sorry I have to tell your parents this".. a hundred euro says he freaks out and begs not to tell his parents, Because lets face anyone who says that and is serious is crying out for help and is not going to turn it down when its finally offered...

Manipulative
Controlling
Co-dependent
Insecure
Low self esteem
Unstable

You should never get with someone that says they will kill themselves if you aren't with them
They are only thinking of themselves and making you feel obligated to them. THAT is NOT what love is all about.

U should probably ignore him...
If u don't want to get back together tell him,
But if u care for him the best thing u could do is tell him how stupid he's being and then avoid him
