Getting summons 2 months after court date
I just found a court summons on my door never served to me just left on my door, from a company I don't know, via an out of county attorneys office, but in looking them up I know they are debt collectors. I don't know who they represent ,this is the first I ever saw anything from them and I get a court suit dated 2 months ago stating I have 30 days from date of court issuance, obviously this date is way past. I have had no correspondence or phone calls from these people so I don't know who they represent, I know I have one card that I did not finish paying when I lost my job 2 years ago. I am willing to bet that this is it but I have no proof. Can they just sue me and get a judgement against me which is what this looks like, without ever sending any notification of intent? What do I do now, according to the summons this is a done deal and I owe including attorney fees.

The first thing is to contact the court and find out what the disposition of the case is. I suspect you will find that its still open. If it isn't you file a motion to vacate on the grounds of improper services. If it is open, then file your Intent to Defend.

You will find lots of threads here that detail what to do after filing the Intent to Defend.
