    Moving washer and dryer
My mother wants to move her washer and dryer from the basement to the main floor for health reasons. I figure all we need to do is cap off the old lines and redirect the 220. My question though is, is it okay to tie into the 2 inch drain line that runs from all the sinks , etc. and also would it be okay to hook pvc water lines up to the existing copper to run upstairs, it just seems easier than welding.

Kibby: Water is no problem. You can connect just about anywhere you find h/c water lines.

Drain is bigger problem. Yes, you can connect to 2" drain. But you will need Vent. Did you plan for vent, too ?

Well my husband mentioned that. Are you talking a vent all the way out the roof or a vent that goes a couple of inches above the washer? The line we are connecting into has a vent within a foot or so of the connection.
