My Kenmore gas dryer, model #11070212990 will not heat up today. It spins and spins but stays cold. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

You obviously have power. As a first guess, you should check to see if there is a door where you can see the ignitor. If the ignitor doesn't glow at some point in the cycle, it has probably failed. If you suspect it's failed, you should be able to see the point of failure on close examination.

Other possible problems include a faulty gas valve or a faulty thermostat that prevents power from getting to the gas valve.

I'd check the ignitor first.

Yep look for the ignitor if it's working more than likely it's the heating element.
