Is it because I went to a ghetto school?
The orientation night for my high school was a few weeks ago and this has been bugging me a bit. Nobody from my old school is going to my high school and I'm probably the only student to go to the high school. I was in the minority of my middle school (which was mostly African American, I'm Caucasian) and I'm going to a mostly white high school. At the orientation the teachers really seemed to like me, but as soon as they found out where I went to school at they suddenly looked down on me. I took honors Algebra 1 in 8th grade and when I was talking to the math chair she asked my mother if she was going to keep me in algebra again. I did phenomenal in 8th grade, passing all of my classes and doing great on the standardized tests. With the Writing Assignment I got a 5 out of 6 (great writing isn't my best attribute.), on the Gateway I scored a 102 (second highest in my school. One of my close friends got a perfect. Grr!), and I got the second highest ACT Explore cumulative results (I got a 22 with a perfect in Science and an almost perfect in Math). Is it because I went to an urban school that is looked down upon why they think I'm stupid? (Trust me, the school was fantastic! I had the best teachers and I learned so much from them!) All answers are appreciated! :D
