Should I run fan of oil furnace all the time?
I have a forced air oil furnace heating and cooling system.

I was told to run the fan on the furnace continuously. Is this correct or should it be only in the warm weather?

Running the fan will help to even the temp out in all of your rooms. Depends on if you want to hear the noise of the fans all the time or not.

I recommend running fan on auto. Continuous running of fan will result in premature motor failure. But without seeing your system, and not knowing why they suggested this, it's a tossup.

I run my furnace fan year round--this provides the most even temperature and comfort, and ensures that my electronic air filter does the most good--my 2 cents for what it's worth. I've been doing this for since 1998, and I also find that the humidity level in the house is more stable as a result, which is also important for comfort.
