My bathroom shower is leaking into my kitchen. My husband resealed everything and its still leaking. I had my Dad come look at it and he had me close the drain and run the shower and the leak got worse. When I drained the water nothing appeared to be worse.

I have a one piece fiberglass shower- no tiles.

I am at a complete loss and I don't know much about plumbing. But I really don't want to start cutting holes in the ceiling and walls until it the last option.

For starters <not an expert but I'm good at trouble shooting I think your leak is in the shower head behind the wall,what I would try is bringing in a hose outside water source block the drain do the same thing you did with your dad and see what it does

I am curious, how did you close the drain on a shower unit, they do not have stoppers. It does sound more like a supply line at or after the mixing valve is leaking. You may be opening that wall up eventually but lets start by removing the handle and the escutcheon plate. Use a flash light and tell me if you see any water inside the wall on the valve.

Thanks for all the feed back. I just closed the lever to close the drain. After you asked I checked to see if the water still went down and it did?

My husband took ashower the next day and the leak was so bad it started dripping into the kitchen. But it hasn't happened since??

I think I am going to try and take bleacha dn water and get rid of the stain marks. Then if it happens again- I will start all over. At least now I feel like I know more.

During the cold winter months the leak seemed ot be worse- it was in about 5 or 6 places on the kitchen ceiling. But last week it was only in one spot. I was thinking the cold weather had something to do with it?

Another take on this is that the tile grout has shrunk where the stream hits the tile wall as you're showering. This will allow the water to run down past the shower pan and out on your ceiling. I think that this is more likely then a leak at your shower raiser and head. Good luck, Tom
