Hiya, I really appreciate who ever answers back to my query.

I am 16 and currently 5"6. My ambition is to be a model and models1 one of the biggest and best agencies said they would take me on if i was 5"7.

There must be a way to grow an inch!

Its really getting to me at the moment and am trying to find every possible way.

My mum said sleeping at the right times will help me grow? What times does she mean? And my dad said he'll stretch me I know he's probably joking and I just laughed but I kind of took it seriously because I really need this.
I've read so much about eating healthily, sleeping, exercise. I really just need to know the FACTS please. I am prepared to do anything literally!

I think a lot of people wish they were a bit taller.

Getting a good amount of sleep does help. Milk.

Maybe consult a nutritionist?

At 16 you could very well have a few more years of growth coming. Just be patient.

Two of my female cousins and I all grew at least 1.5" after we turned 20. Put your dream of modeling on the back burner for now. Focus on being healthy, well educated and responsible but fun. If that last inch happens while you are pursuing another career, make a change then. Be proud of who you are now.

I'm assuming you've begun menstruating?

Unfortunately girls grow much more slowly after this, although apparently you can keep growing in height until your 21 or thereabouts.

I suggest you keep really healthy, play sport and eat well.

As the others have said, odds are good you will still grow a bit, but in the meantime, check out other agencies. You don't "have" to be 5'7 to model. Yes, some jobs you would not be considered for but print work, commercials, and trade shows, for example can be done by models of various heights. It all depends on whether they feel you have a look that they can use. Sometimes it will be what is currently in... but your best bet is to show how versitile you can be with your look. Send in a couple of headshots and full body pics and see what response you get. Fingers crossed!

Ummm, if u lick lemons 2-3 times a day, you will grow 1/16 of an inch daily. Also, washing/shaving your legs with mayo has been proven to increase growth of legs in height.

Please post your source for such lunacy. It's absolutely absurd to tell someone that they can grow by licking a lemon or shaving with mayo.

The bottom line is that the OP should focus on being healthy. There really isn't anything you can do to increase growth as it's determined by genetics. As long as the person eats healthy foods, gets plenty of rest, and has plent of calcium & vitamin D for strong bones, then that's all you can do.

Frooty how are the lemons supposed to be licked? He she suppose to cut them in half or lick them with the skin still on?

Shaving your legs will mayo will make you grow taller too?

Exactly how long does it take for these remedies to work and am curious if you tried them out or not?

Try just improving your posture. Standing up taller and straighter can add height. Good posture is essential to being a model anyway. Stand with your shoulders back and your head up and back. There are websites and books you can check out with more information. There's nothing you can do to force yourself to grow, or make yourself grow faster, but you can teach yourself to make the most of the height you have. If you just stand taller you could add an extra inch.

Oh I think I might just go and buy a load of lemons, got plenty of mayo in the fridge! I could do with a bit more height,I'm only 5ft 3"!

Seriously though, I think that the demands for models are ridculous, I've seen programmes where girls wanting to be models are skin and bone basically and have become so ill because they wanted to follow a modelling career. I really don't agree with it myself!

I think you should follow the advise of many on here and look into something else, and hopefully being still young, keep healthy you may just grow more in height. Also posture is very important, I know myself as I have bad posture and I'm always trying to correct myself, I have actually shrunk in height very slightly due to bad posture, and I'm only 35yrs old!

I also think that maybe now isn't the time for you to pursue a modelling career,especially as your not tall enough, listen to your body, and read the signs that maybe this isn't right for you. Who knows this may lead yoou down another path,somewhere even better that you will be glad that you wasn't tall enough. Your at an age where many things will change, lots of other things to explore.
