    Whirlpool 9400 dryer
I have had this dryer for 2 day and now it stopped drying. I was told the ignitor is not working. Does this make sense for a brand new dryer to have an ignitor not working. I do not understand how this can happen after 2 days. Do you think I was sold a bad product or could this just happen for many reasons. I am upset at this happening and I want to find out now before I have paid for all as I paid a lot of money for this.

Who told you the ignitor is not working? Ignitors are fairly fragile, so it's possible that one could have failed -- although you wouldn't call this common. Parts can fail, and some can fail early. Just because one part fails doesn't mean you were sold a bad product.

If it's brand new, you should call the company you bought it from and ask them to service it.

I had a repair person come today. I was not charged. They said the ignitor was not working and they fixed it. I just really hope this does not indicate I got a bad machine.
