    Leaking ceiling below a bathroom
I have a ceiling that has three strips caused by water leaking from the upstairs bathroom. I have shut the water off and am wondering if I have to start tearing the ceiling apart or what the next step is. The bathroom has a tub with shower head, toilet and sink. Thanks for your help

If there's a access panel behind the front of the tub open up and tell me if the trap's wet or if you see moisture anywhere. Regards, tom

When I bought my house there was a stain on the ceiling below the upstairs bathroom. The bathroom has a shower and tub. Two years ago I had the entire bath re-tiled and after the demo, discovered the leak was water splashing out of the tub onto the floor and leaking into the adjacent wall and under the tub and driping down. Now that the tile is done with a caulked seam at the floor and tub - no more leak.
