Currently held in county jail on crime he obviously did not commit. The person accusing me and/or the arresting officer did not appear in court for my hearing, therefore son is still be held. Hearing was put on a continuance. How many times can the hearing be put on continuance??

I think up to three times or 6 months.
After 6 months you have to have your preliminary or be released at least in my state.

If your son is INNOCENT and being held in jail, HIRE a lawyer for him. He'll also be able to answer your question - but more importantly, he'll be able to DO something about your son. You can't.
