    Squatters laws
    I want to know everything I can find out about squatters laws. How to obtain property by squatting and how long would it take and the proses of it all . i.e. Monroe co. in TN.

    There is no such thing as squatters' laws anymore. They have been replaced by the law of adverse possession. In TN the requirements for taking title by adverse possession are hostile possession of the property (meaning against the rights of the true owner), excluding others, obvious to the public, with some type of improvement to or action on the property, for a continuous period of 20 years. (It can be 7 years if you have some type of claim to the property, such as a deed which is not legally valid.)
