    Condo Fire Zone
I live in a condo that had "fire zone" signs placed along the streets after a resident complained bitterly about residents parking at the curb. What constitutes a "fire zone?" Who is the final authority on what constitutes a fire zone and what is simply a curb?
I would appreciate help finding the chapter & verse of the California condominium code that addresses this.

Usually the local fire department decides what is a fire zone and what is a curb. There are codes that specify what is required for a fire zone, and builders/developers need to follow up on these, but the fire department/fire inspector has the final authority.

Contact your local Fire Marshall and have him come out and advise you of what is a curb and what is a fire zone. The folks at the condo assn may have it right or totally wrong. It would be up to Mr. Fire Marshall to make the official determination.
