How do I adjust the cut in and cut out screws on the pumptrol. They are both out from the factry setting. I have the bladder type tank. I drained it completely an pumped it up to 25 PSI as recommended on the tank and filled the tank with water by pressing the contacts to 50 PSI the tank is now full, how do I adjust th cut in an cut out pressures. Must I drain the tank again?

Turn power off to pump.

Remove cover on pressure control.

There are 2 screws. A long one and a short one.

The long one will adjust both PSI on and off.
The setting should be 30 psi on and 50 psi off.

Turn power and run water. Watch contact for when it closes. This is your lower psi.

Shut off water and watch contacts to open. This is higher psi. If 30/50, u are good.

If adjustment is needed, turn off power and turn large screw 1 1/2 turns clockwise to increase pressure.

Small screw adjust just lower setting.

Bladder tank should be set 2 psi lower then low setting. If shut off is 30psi then tank should be set at 28 psi.

To adjust psi in tank, will have to drain it.

Inside cover usually has info on adjusting pressure control.

If you change the pressure setting on the control box you will have to shut the pump off, drain the system and recharge the bladder tank to the new pressure setting.
Which nut adjusts water pump cut on or cut off?
The larger nut in the pump pressure switch: Usually the larger nut in the pump pressure control switch adjusts the pump cut-on ("cut-in") AND pump cut-off pressures simultaneously. That means that whatever the gap is between the cut-on pressure and the cut-off pressure, that gap is maintained, but the entire operating range of the pump is raised or lowered. Turning the large nut clockwise RAISES BOTH the cut-on and cut-off pressures. So turning the large nut clockwise shifts the whole operating pressure range of the pump UP to HIGHER pressures.
Conversely, turning the large nut counter-clockwise will lower the whole pump operating range. This is the simplest adjustment to make.
The small nut in the pump pressure switch: this nut is used to narrow or widen the gap between the pump cut-on and pump cut-off pressures. Turning the small nut clockwise (tighter) will RAISE the CUT-OFF pressure, and vice versa, loosening or turning the nut counter-clockwise will lower the cut-off pressure. Watch out! If you loosen this nut too much you can set the cut-off pressure below the cut-on pressure and the pump will turn on and run forever (or until it burns up.)
