My family is moving out of USA and I had donated most of my household stuff to charity. I have also received a receipt from them for the donation which can be used for itemized deduction. My standard deduction is more than the combined amount in the receipt for the charity and other such items that I can itemize.



Are there any other tax benefits related to the charity receipt since I cannot use them for itemized deduction?

Keep the receipt, because you will probably be required to file a dual-status return, and you CANNOT claim the standard deduction when you file a dual-status return.
