I was charged with theft under 5000 for stealing a toy $99 even though the undercover security guard did not see the whole thing & came at me from behind when I was 200 meter through parking lot (they never introduced themselves).COP released me on PTA.Now how & when do I get a copy of the report of that security guard & police & crown.Can I get a copy of the video survillance at door.Does such cases get solved on 1st court date or will it be longer ?

You can get all the evidence they plan on using in court. If they caught you outside the store with the stolen property, well that sort of sums it up.

If you didn't steal the toy how do you intend to explain how it came to be in your possession in the parking lot - they will say you walked out of the store with it, someone witnessed the theft, video or not. What is your explanation?
