I overfilled the oil on my mower after it was using lots of oil on a big lawn. The engine was hot, I overfilled it, so I just stopped for the day. Now it won't start. Sprayed some starter fluid in it, got a brief start and then engine stopped in few seconds. Have replaced gas, new air filter, spark plug, cleaned muffler out, cleaned out the breather tube to air filter and still get same result. Starts for a few seconds with starter fluid then stops. Haven't used starter fluid before so don't think I've messed it up by overuse this time.

Ideas?

After all you've done, all that's left is the carburetor. It's probably filled with oil.
