What are some really good treatments or products for dry hair? I've recently used a color stripper & color that left my hair feeling rough.

I have dry frizzy hair from years of dyes, perms, straightening, all kinds of jazz. I was told at a salon to put regular conditioner in my hair when its dry and then wrap it up in a towel. Leave it for 20 minutes and then take a shower as normal. It works great. I do it every other weekend.

I like Aussie 3 minute conditioner best and I do like ChihuahuaMomma said and leave it in for as long as I can with a towel wrapped around my head.

I went this afternoon and got some aussie deeeep 3 minute miracle. I washed my hair applied the aussie and left it on for a hour under a shower cap. This stuff is awsome, I can't believe the difference it made in my hair. Before my hair was so dry it made a crunchy sound when I touched it but now its soft & shiny. Thanks to everyone for all the great advice.

I use a deep conditioner and put a conditioning cap on it. Then I clean the house or whatever so that it ends up staying on for a couple hours. Sometimes (with the cap on), I sit under a warm dryer too. When I rinse it out my hair is SO soft!

Some good at home remedies are Olive oil, crushed avocado, or mayo.

Another thing
Use different shampoos and use a clarifying shampoo occasionally too.
When you use the same shampoo and no clarifying shampoo you can get a soap build up. Often that will make your hair dry and brittle.

The longer you leave a treatment on your head the longer it will work for.

Companies have to put a time on their packaging so if a product says "leave in for 2 minutes, then rinse" leave it in for longer!
2 Minutes is enough to make a difference but longer is better!
The reason the times are short is because if they said "Leave in for 1 hour" no-one would buy it.

After I bleached my hair then re-dyed it it was horribly dry... one treatment of this made my hair shiny again!
