    Shallow well pump priming
I have tried numerous times to prime my well pump. I shut off all lines. Turn the power off the well pump, and then fill the line appropriately. I then turn on the power and everything sound great for a moment and then it is like there is no water in the well. In fact, there is over 7 feet.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Jim,
You fill the impeller cage to prime he pump . Turn off the powe rand locate a small threaded opening on top of the impeller cage housing. This will have either a plug or a gage installed. Remove and fill the housing to overflowing. Replace the plug'gage and start the pump. This should prime your pump. If you can't fill the pump housing to overflowing then you have a foot/check valve that has to be replaced. Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom
