    trouble with the trailer
We just bought a mobile home the people we bought it from told us the apraised value was four thousand dollars. We remoived the over grown bushes from the front of the trailer to find the bottom half of the front side was all rotted behind the siding. The sides are also damaged and will need to be replaced as the rotted wood is also along the corners. We still owe them money for the washer and dryer they left. But after having to replace the whole front of the trailer and the two corners a few feet in on both sides has cost us additional expenses. We have not confronted the people that sold it to us. They are looking to ger paid for the appliances. What can we do?

You can show them the receipts for the floor repair and ask them to take the money you spent off the washer and dryer. If they won't do this, then basically there is nothing you can do about this as the home was obviously sold as is and you should have done a more prudent checking of the floors. Lots of time rotten floors in mobile homes are not even known if it was in say a room that the other people didn't go into much. Considering you only paid $4,000 for the home, you basically got what you paid for. Mobile home floors are usually the first things that go. The roof may be leaking or a window may be leaking and that caused the floor damage. Be sure to check the tops of the windows to be sure they are properly sealed. The same goes with the roof.

You basically pay them for the items, but I would see if they work first.

You should have inspected the trialer first, the fact you just bought it, without looking at it, well, you did not get a inspection from a professional, you did not properly look at it yourself.

Sorry but all this shows is that you were cheated, you need to look at the sales paper work, but most likely you are just out the money. Lesson learned to spend a few hundred on a professional inspection before you buy property
